Getting Lost
Sometimes, when you're in a city like Paris, you just want to get lost and find your own thing. If this sounds like you, then we reccommend walking to Rue Guisarde (near Marchet Saint-Germaine). This area is full of bars and some restaurants, and is a joy to get lost in.
There is also Rue du Montparnasse, which contains many creperies that are all of a high standard - typically one takes a savoury crepe (called a galette) followed by a sweet one. The density of creperies is due to Gare Montparnasse. This train station that services Brittany, and historically many inhabitants of that region settled around this area and brought without a local dish - crepes.
More north of the river (right bank), there is also Rue Montorgueil (take line 7 on the metro to Chatelet). This is another long street full of bars, restaurants, and just a general lively atmosphere.
